  • About us: Indian Creek Baptist Church is located in Mill Run, in the beautiful mountains of southwestern Pennsylvania. The church has been in existence for over 180 years, by God’s faithfulness. We are a rural, family-oriented church. Our church represents the multi-generational families here and others who are newer to our community, and our attendance is spread over all age groups, averaging 130 each Sunday. God has given us the blessing of supporting multiple ministries that strengthen our Body and reach our community. We are a conservative American Baptist Church.

Overview

We are looking for a Youth Pastor who can pick up where our previous Youth Pastor left off. We have an established youth group of 10-20 with a core group of about 10 students. Come and connect with our kids, as we would like to increase our impact within our community and reach more youth with the message of Christ. We are anticipating God bringing us the man He has prepared for our church!

Responsibilities

  1. Maintain a Godly testimony
  2. Spend time daily in Bible study and prayer
  3. Clearly share the Gospel message and have a plan to disciple in place
  4. Maintain a youth group for grades 6-12
  5. Build relationships and encourage youth to invite friends
  6. Maintain a professional relationship with the students
  7. Make time to meet with parents/connect with students in appropriate venues
  8. Maintain a social media presence in an appropriate manner
  9. Pass background checks
  10. Preach on Sunday mornings in the event of the Senior Pastor’s absence/illness, compensated at guest speaker rate
  11. Attend Sunday School and teach High School Sunday School class
  12. Attend the monthly Board Meetings (2) with ministry reports
  13. Submit a written annual ministry report
  14. Be prepared to attend and respond positively to reviews (once every six months for the first three years, then once a year thereafter)
  15. If possible, participate in VBS and King’s Kids Club in whatever capacity necessary
  16. Collaborate with Senior Pastor on a weekly basis to fulfill the vision and doctrinal statement set forth by ICBC
  17. Other duties as assigned

Requirements

  1. This man will meet the qualifications of an elder found in I Timothy 3 and Titus 1.
  2. Connect with students and be relatable
  3. Disciple and mature the spiritual lives of our church’s youth
  4. Talk about today’s topics and hard topics from a Biblical perspective
  5. Build a culture of community that welcomes students in
  6. Promote our youth group in our community
  7. Boost outreach opportunities
  8. Promote youth service within the church and broader community
  9. Address social media’s messages and influence from a knowledgeable perspective
  10. Work from fresh ideas; remain motivated and enthusiastic
  11. Work well with others, as a team member
  12. Encourage volunteers
  13. Possibly possess a CDL (not required)
  14. May enjoy sports and a variety of activities
  15. May have musical talent and play an instrument

Benefits

  1. Hours: 20-25/week
  2. Salary: $20,000-25,000/year (including housing allowance), based on education and experience
  3. Medical assistance: $1,500 for medical expenses/insurance annually (as needed)
  4. Mileage: at IRS rate, ministry related
  5. Vacation:10 days per calendar year (maximum of 2 Sundays), prorated
